Online Resources
I don't know if you can get the magazine of the UK embroiderers guild 'Stitch' where you are but if you can't or if you can but would like to look at back issues the link above will take you to their website. There is an excellent set of projects from previous issues available by clicking on the links in the lefthand menu. They give detailed instructions for each project.
I mentioned the mag on the Aussie mags craft forum too but thought it bore repeating here. I have just received my subscription issue of the August/September issue and it has a great article on BDE, makes those threads sound really slippery tho' so I admire those of you who use them all the more.
There are lots of techniques not immediately associated with CQ but which are adaptable and a great source of inspiration I especially liked the article on couching with some beautiful pictures
or how about this on mountmellick?
If what you are after is more basic stitches for seam treatments scroll further down that lefthand menu and there is a stitch directory with really clear diagrams.
Enjoy :)

I think I'm ready to send Evie's block on to Joma.I didn't want to compete with the strength of the sun/bead motif or the peacock feather,so I thought that by adding a BDE lily and working with red on red the impact would not be too great.I also added seam treatments:one with a Sadi gold thread.couched down and the other, a herringbone in same rayon Lola thread as the lily and a small gold cross stitched over herringbone.

Pinup's block
No,I'm not showing you,yet!
But last night I finally started on Evie's block.
A couple of "unpicks" later,it's starting to shape up:
Using a sample of Sadi gold thread that Joma sent me,I've couched that along one seam line....it picks up the gold of the fabrics and the beads and sun motif;
Then I just HAD to add a bit of BDE:a red lily on a red patch---sounds weird I know,but I thought that by working red on red it wouldn't be too dominant against the fantastic beading motif in central position by Helen, and Hope's beautiful peacock feather;
then on another seam I did a Cretan stitch,but think I'll ribbit out tonight as the thread is too fine!
By the bye,one thing I did learn ,is that the gold thread I used(looks like square gold shavings) does not take kindly to being caught up in an embroidery hoop :-(
so when the block gets to you,please try NOT to squeeze the Sadi into a hoop!

Lynette's Block
I have just finished work on Lynette's Block and have continued with the "pink" theme and the butterflies and flowers. I have worked some flowers in BDE (reminiscent of echinacea flowers) and added a pale pink glass butterfly bead and 2 Murano glass flower beads. For the seam I worked open chain stitches and filled the spaces with opalescent glass 5mm seed beads. I included a tiny pink signature in the patch as well. This block was a bit of a challenge as I wanted to work something that I have not done before and it sang to me of ribbon roses and beads and button clusters. I didn't listen to it's singing...I hope you like it Lynette.

Mary's Block
This is a block I have been working on for Mary(Joma's 11 y.o. daughter)
Mary had added her name in beads on the lavendar lace,and the daisies separating the lace panel from the rest of the block;
I added the pansies and Fargo roses on a "vine" around her name.
Mary also plays the violin & as i couldn't find a charm I added a bar of music;
Finally, I added a kitten playing with a ball (Mary and I both love cats!) in a patch of silk ribbon flowers.
Belle will be the next person to work on the block!

Kellie's Block
Hello All :)
Here is a photo of the work I did on Kellie's block. The block is quite large and has very strong colours on it. Kellie didn't specify a theme but the other work on it is pretty and flowery so I chose some flower shaped buttons and did a seam treatment in purple herringbone stitch with straight stitch in a contrasting pink colour to give it more impact. I only seem to be able to do this stitch very small? I tried it on belle's block with cross stitch too and it was tiny so get your magnifiers out girls!

The mail delivered Evie's block to me after Hope had worked her Peacock magic on it!
I have tried to upload another scan of the block to try and share with you the lushness of the fabrics and the dimension of the beading.
I tell you,it's a hard act to follow---Evie,then Hope!
