Double cast-on stitch
As promised to Hope,here are the instructions for a "Double cast-on" stitch which I used in the red lily on pinup's block.You will need to use a LARGE darning needle and Edmar Lola thread.

Thanks, Maureen, I will have a go at this on my sampler vest. Would a Doll needle be suitable as well?

When I did the red lily I'd misplaced my favourite darner,found my tatting needle too blunt,so used the doll needle---as long as you have a sharp needle long enough to accommodate all the cast on stitches,you're in business!
Also I don't see why you couldn't practise with a #5 or #8 Perle thread first instead of possibly wasting the Edmar Lola thread!
Guess I'd better go try it out myself!!
