Trish's cqrr

Trish said she wanted to make her block into a cushion for her bed, so I thought a heart was a nice romantic touch. It's hard to see, but the little gold 'blob' is a cupid.

Belle! This is beautiful - you've been hiding your light under a bushel (if that's what the quote is?) I think it is lovely, lovely, lovely Tell me what the stitches are and how you made it - so I can copy!

Thankyou, thankyou, says she blushing! It's very simple stuff, I appliqued a piece of bridal lace down with beads, following the 'flat' bits in the lace, then did sre flowers, some are flat, some are loopy ?? There may be a technical term for that I'm not aware of. I couched the ribbon bow down with tiny beads, and put fancy white ric-rac around the outside to cover the edge.

If you want to get technical belle,it's a "looped straight stitch".
Use a 7mm ribbon and it's perfect for poppies and briar roses;
Use a 2mm ribbon and lots of loops,and you can make little daisies!
But I'll be very surprised if Trish doesn't love your heart!

I was wondering if the hears with the lovely ric rac around it was a purchased motif - it looks very neat - so I am even more impressed that you assembled it yourself, you clever thing you!

Thanks Maureen,(and Jam, again) it was actually the 'loped straight stitch' you did on Mary's block that I copied, so you were instructing me in absentia, couldn't have done it without you. I think I used some 2mm and some 4mm ribbon, haven't quite got the hang of what size to use where, or what sort of flowers you get.
